Aloha Wheeler Families, we appreciate your patience during the closure of school and look forward to welcoming our students back tomorrow, Wednesday, August 18.

Aloha Wheeler Ohana, due to the uncertainties of the electrical power at school and out of an abundance of caution, Wheeler Elementary will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, August 18. We will continue to provide our Wheeler families with updates as we receive them for the Hawaii Dept. of Education. Mahalo for your kind understanding and patience.

Due to the severe weather event this weekend, all Hawaii DOE schools statewide will be closed on Monday, August 17. Students should not report to campus. Mahalo for your understanding.

Sharing a little history on Hawaii's Statehood Day. "Statehood Day in Hawaii commemorates August 21, 1959, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the proclamation making Hawaii the 50th U.S. state. Observed on the third Friday of August, the official state holiday was first celebrated in 1969".

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (HIDOE) continues to closely monitor Tropical Storm Lala and is working in coordination with state and county emergency management officials as the storm approaches the state.

Based on the latest weather conditions and forecasts, the HIDOE is expanding previously announced closures on Hawaiʻi Island to include:
"Saturday and Sunday, all Oʻahu and Kauaʻi campuses and offices will close"

The cancellations include school-sponsored extracurricular activities, athletics and community use of school facilities. Previously scheduled school-related events and activities during a campus’ closure period will be canceled or postponed.

Join our PTSO for the first meeting of the school year on August 19 @ 1:30 pm in the Transition Center.

Mandatory training is required for anyone who wants to volunteer on our campus. Some examples of volunteering at our are classroom helpers, book fair, field trip chaperones and school events.
